Second grade is an exciting year! In math, students take addition and subtraction to the next level with regrouping, telling time, and counting money. As students become more fluent and confident readers, they are challenged to identify text features in non-fiction texts, compare and contrast, and discuss author’s purpose. Second graders also learn to share and support their opinions in their writing. Students have the opportunity to participate in various STEAM projects throughout the year. In the spring, we explore wild life on a field trip to Huddart Park.
