What is Creative Colts ?

Creative Colts introduces students to a variety of art techniques, mediums, and art fundamentals.

Creative Colts is facilitated by our art teacher, Robin Sulic, and supported through parent volunteers and class teachers.

Participating in the art program encourages students to develop often neglected fine motor skills, improving their ability to write, play sports and music, and their focus. An art avenue can often be a comfort and source of solace and calm for students who struggle with their peers, with their workload, and with the stress and anxiety that daily life brings them. Our hope is that we can foster a love for the arts in a variety of forms for our students to take with them throughout the rest of their lives.

How can I get involved?

Volunteer to be an Art Guide! Art Guides do not need any experience or background in teaching or art education. From start to finish, the Art Guide is in the classroom for about 60 minutes, helping to set up and clean up for the class, assisting students who need more hands-on, or doing various projects to prepare for future art classes.

Each class attends art twice a month, from September through May, with an art show at Open House at the end of May.

Sign ups for Creative Colts take place at the beginning of the year during the Welcome Back Coffee and Back to School Nights in the classrooms, but parents are welcome to sign up any time throughout the year.
